Video Poker
You start by placing a wager, clicking on the "deal" button and you will be dealt five cards. You may choose to replace any number of the cards you were dealt and you can choose to keep your hand as is. The ones you do not keep will be replaced with a new card, making this your final hand. The goal of the game is to make a payable poker hand (Jacks or better). Payouts are according to the pay table below. If you don't make Jacks or better, then you loose your wager.
Betting lines
The PKR video poker offers up to 5 lines, which essentially act as multipliers of your bet and of payouts. In other words, if you start by betting $5, then you click on the "bet max" button, you are betting 5 lines which means you're actually betting $5 x 5 = $25. The advantage of betting multiple lines is if you bet the Royal Flush because it pays much more one 5 lines than it normally would. The payout is not simply multiplied by 5, in this case it is multiplied by 16.
Important Betting Tip - Let's say you just want to wager $5 at a time. Instead of playing $5 on 1 line, play $1 on 5 lines. That way, your bet will be $5 but if you get the Royal flush, you will be paid $4000 instead of $1250. Everything else remains the same.
Doubling
PKR Video Poker allows you to double your winnings multiple times. If you made a winning hand, you will be given the chance to double or collect. Collect means you will win the amount shown and then be able to start a new game. If you click on the Double button, you are putting your current winnings at risk in an attempt to double up.
When you double, the deck is shuffled and you are dealt one card face up and four cards face down. You have to select one of the 4 face down cards and your selection needs to be higher than the exposed card for you to double up. Aces are considered high cards. If you succeed, you can attempt to double your winnings again or collect your current winnings. If the cards are of equal rank, then it's considered a draw and you don't double up, but keep your winnings. If the card you selected is lower then the game ends and you don't win anything.
If you win or draw, you will be given the option to double or collect again, up to a maximum of four times.
